Founder's Name and Background
Farm Rio was founded by Kátia Barros and Marcelo Bastos, who started by sharing their creations at a small booth at an independent fashion market. Their passion forever changed the local scene and gradually touched all of Brasil. Kátia, the brand's creative director, is recognized as one of Latin America's 500 most influential people and believes in fashion as a force for a fairer world, promoting heritage celebration, social inclusion and sustainability.

Founded in Rio de Janeiro, Farm Rio grew from a small market stall into one of Brazil’s most iconic fashion brands. What began as a shared dream between two friends quickly evolved into a cultural movement, expanding to over 100 stores across the country. In 2019, the brand took its exuberant aesthetic global, establishing a presence in major cities including New York, Los Angeles, Paris and London.
